There are six DStv Premiership matches scheduled this weekend as the 2022/23 season rapidly nears its conclusion.

The standout fixtures took place on Saturday evening when Orlando Pirates beat SuperSport United 1-0 while the Buccaneers’ Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs edged Maritzburg United 3-2 on the road.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns took a giant step towards a sixth consecutive DStv Premiership title this weekend – without even being in league action!

Following SuperSport United’s defeat, Mamelodi Sundowns enjoy a yawning 20-point lead over second-placed Matsatsantsa.

SuperSport United have seven matches remaining, meaning they could, theoretically, pick up another 21 points.

Mamelodi Sundowns need to bide their time before being officially crowned champions, but only require another two log points to lift the trophy.
