It is a miracle! Not even one broken bone! A toddler miraculously escaped unharmed after being run over by her father’s bakkie in a freak accident on their farm in Limpopo.
THE TODDLER DID NOT EVEN BREAK ONE SINLE BONE HER LITTLE BODY
According to a report by Maroela Media, doctors were dumbfounded that 15-month-old Talila van der Walt did not even break a single bone in her body after a bakkie ran over her.
Her mother Eliztien Erasmus-van der Walt, said doctors told them it was humanly and medically impossible that she could survive after something like this.
The accident happened late on Wednesday afternoon when her husband, Wayne van der Walt, wanted to park the family’s bakkie under the roof.
THE FREAK ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON THE FAMILY FARM
The family lives on a farm in the Stockpoort area near Lephalale (Ellisras) in Limpopo.
“We stopped at the house, and I went to the builders who were busy with building work at the house. At that stage, it looked like the weather was starting to pick up. There was stuff on the back of the bakkie [such as cement] that shouldn’t get wet, and we decided to cover the bakkie,”
Eliztien says that before Wayne got into the Toyota Land Cruiser (4.2-double-cabin bakkie), he first made sure the children were not nearby.
WAYNE MADE SURE THE CHILDREN WERE NOT NEARBY WHEN HE MOVED THE BAKKIE
Wayne felt the bakkie’s left front wheel drive over something as he drove forward. He immediately jumped out of the bakkie to investigate.

“Talila lay behind the wheel and looked at him with wide eyes. He then realized he had driven over her.”
According to Eliztien, it looks as if the wheel went over the top of Talila’s body – between her knees and diaphragm.
The toddler’s legs were red, and she was breathing heavily.
“‘I ran over our kid!’ Wayne yelled as he came running towards me.”
