Kamohelo Mokotjo signs for Sekhukhune
31-year-old Mokotjo has been a free agent since leaving MSL side Cincinnati in November 2021. That’s quite a long hiatus for a player of Mokotjo’s quality. He was initially set to rejoin FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie late in 2021, but injuries curtailed that move. Since then, he’s indicated a willingness to move back to South Africa.

Mokotjo’s journey comes full circle
The cultured holding midfielder came through the ranks at SuperSport United. His colourful club career in top-flight football has spanned stints in England with Brentford, the Netherlands with FC Twente and the USA with Cincinnati. There were reports earlier this week that Kaizer Chiefs opted not to sign Mokotjo, a man with 23 Bafana Bafana caps. The last of those came in 2020 AFCON qualifying.
The iDiski Times report via Lorenz Kohler confirms that Mokotjo has signed a one-and-a-half-year deal with a one-year option to extend. He’ll link up with newly-promoted second assistant Morgan Gould, a man who he knows well.
