This was the Buccaneers’ sixth league defeat of the season, and it left them in position eight and 18 points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, Riveiro believes anything is still possible with Pirates, saying there are a lot of points to play for in the remaining 15 league games.

While Riveiro admitted that the second half of the season is tougher than the first, he has no reason to doubt that Pirates can win ALL their remaining 15 games.
Of course, that’s a bizarre statement by the Spaniard given Pirates’ struggles to even score enough goals this season but he said it’s optimism and not stupidity on his part.

“We have 15 games to play. Those are a lot of points to play for,” Riveiro told reporters in Cape Town.
“The second part of the season is much more difficult, not only for Pirates but for everyone to collect points.
“There is no reason to think we cannot win (the remaining) 15 games,” he continued.
“I’m optimistic. I’m not stupid. I know how difficult the challenge is but we are going to every game with an intention to win and let’s see at the end of the season where we are,” added Riveiro.
